Education Account Manager
My name is Joe Miller, and I am the Account Manager for Education at The Communication Company. I am originally from South Bend, Indiana and come from an entire family of educators and leaders.
I have served for over two decades as a school principal, teacher and coach. As a father of four current school-aged children, I know that a safe, secure, well ordered, and highly communicative environment is the non-negotiable foundation from which the best education can flourish.
The best part of my job is getting to meet so many tremendous people in schools and campuses who function in various roles but share the same goal of creating spaces and opportunities where students can thrive. As the field of education from preschool through graduate school has evolved so rapidly over the last several years, so too has the challenge of integrating management, instructional, communication and safety systems from the playground, to the classroom, to the stadium.
Whether I am working with a teacher and her principal on new ideas for projection and communication of ideas to students in the classroom, an SRO on the challenges of monitoring entrances and exits in a mega high school, or sharing options for immediate alert communication during a campus wide emergency threat, my simple goal is to share my skills and experience in leadership, strategic planning, and project management in order to achieve their goals.
Maya Angelou famously said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." My goal is to build strong trusting relationships, both professional and personal, by making all those I encounter feel genuinely valued and deeply respected.
An interesting fact about me is that I lived in South America for two years and speak Spanish fluently. When I am not at work, I can be found relaxing with my beautiful wife and/or trying to keep up with our four children.
