Communication Company presents at 2025 Fire Inspectors Association of Indiana Annual Conference
Communication Company presented at the 2025 Fire Inspectors Association of Indiana Annual Conference. Supported by vendors and manufacturers for education, the conference provides an opportunity for inspectors from across the state to train, certify, and collaborate on topics related to fire safety in the state of Indiana.
This year’s conference, held from March 11-13, 2025, discussed the possibility of training local and state fire houses on codes and NFPA requirements, building relationships with inspectors that need additional researched information to be successful in their own space or building, and occupant’s safety.
Lynnetta Cleary, Marty Farrher, Willie Cooper, and Tony Dominello represented Communication Company at this year’s event, with presentations given by both Lynnetta and Marty.
Lynnetta Cleary presented on fire alarm panel operations, focusing on basic operating and visible cues from the first approach of the panel by a newly-certified inspector.
Marty Farrher discussed the intelligibility of emergency communications systems, focusing on voice automation and code versus standard. Key takeaways from his presentation include:
Identifying key methods to measure intelligibility
Understanding concepts associated with a clear and intelligible message
Outlining specific testing requirements
Identifying differences between measuring audibility and intelligibility
