The Future of Fire Security: Siemens Intelligent Detection Systems
Originally published by Siemens
In addition to providing rapid detection, a fire protection system must be able to detect different types of fire events and distinguish them from deceptive phenomena such as steam, dust or exhaust fumes. Siemens detection technology relies on sophisticated algorithms to identify and verify sources of fire. To increase the reliability of our detection system, Siemens additionally features a set of IoT-enabled detectors and devices delivering real-time data for further analysis.
Reliable detection with DFTtechnology
Siemens IoT-enabled detectors regularly conduct function tests without disturbing building occupants. DFT technology provides highly reliable, year-round fire protection and helps maintain undisturbed spaces. Tests are run on-demand or on a scheduled basis, without interrupting the detection ability. Data from test results is stored automatically in the cloud and are visible through Siemens service tools.
Early and reliable detection with ASAtechnology
With our Siemens Advanced Signal Analysis (ASA) technology, we are able to adapt any detection system to the specific application environment. By choosing the right set of parameters, our intelligent ASA detectors are able to detect real fires and avoid false alarms and unnecessary evacuations.
Semi-standard applications: Semi-complex environments, typically found in multi-purpose event venues and other applications with a moderate level of deceptive phenomena, we use parameter sets 2, 5 or 8, depending on the respective ambient conditions.
Standard applications: For standard applications like offices with medium-level of deceptive phenomena, we use parameter sets 4 or 10, depending on the ambient conditions.
Industrial applications: Parameter set 6, 7, and 12 apply for complex environments in production facilities and other industrial applications with a high level of deceptive phenomena.
Cleanroom applications: Parameter set 9 applies for areas without deceptive phenomena, typically found in the hospital environment. Whereas parameter set 11 is use for super- sensitive applications, like data centers and cleanrooms.
